Cavalcante Expects to Return to Action in Spring After winning back-to-back K-1 Heroes tournament wins in 2006 and 2007, Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante has had a tough go of things. He had a win over highly ranked Shinya Aoki changed to a no contest because of illegal strikes and then dropped the rematch a month later. He followed that up with a loss to Tatsuya Kawajiri after a lengthy layoff due to a lingering knee injury. Cavalcante now tells Sherdog.com that he is 100 percent healthy and ready to return after nearly a year on the shelf. Speaking with Greg Savage, Cavalcante -- once ranked as high as no. 2 in the world -- that he is certain he will be back in the ring sometime this spring.
