Silva: Sonnen Doesn’t Deserve Rematch

UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva told Sherdog.com’s Marcelo Alonso that Chael Sonnen deserves the benefit of the doubt in regards to allegations that the challenger tested positive for banned substances following their title fight at UFC 117.

Silva was less reserved when discussing the pair’s rematch, which has been put on hold while Sonnen goes before the California State Athletic Commission. The sport’s widely-regarded top pound-for-pound fighter is tentatively slated for a title defense against Vitor Belfort in February 2011.
